Last New Year - Namewee
Whenever "Namewee" is mentioned, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? His signature string of profanity? A newspaper columnist remarked that the Namewee who doesn't get to use swear word to express himself is more remarkable.
According to Chinese customs, whenever death happens to a family, the family affected will have to mourn for three years (as per orthodox Confucianist tradition). But the mourning period is cut to one year nowadays. In other words, immediate family members of the deceased will not be celebrating Chinese New Year in the following year.
People living in the time now have busy schedules and reserve little time to spend with the rest of family. Through his song, Namewee is asking us to appreciate every moment we have with our family because we never know when the opportunity will no longer be available.
